as I said in previous post, I had never heard of Capitol Reef. Well worth the detour. The rock formation is impressive and very colorful with a choice of ochre, white, grey and some yellow tones.
hmmm yes, I’m talking about rich colors and variety and I end up showing monochrome pictures…dumb me.
and here below, the equally but bigger Arches nat’l park.
erosion has it ways that I can’t really understand… This formation shows 3 different levels and shapes of erosion. This rock could be nicknamed the Ship or something like that.

and here the most famous arch in the park, if not in the world: Landscape Arch. The picture doesn’t do any favor to the arch but the span is huge, a few hundred feet wide. I’ll do my research for next time I show a picture of this wonder in color
