Shot on B/W films with a 1961 Rolleiflex as shown at bottom. I don’t have to use such antique cameras, or even older ones. But it’s like driving a vintage car, fly an old plane, stay fan of old music or clothes. You sometimes get more pleasure using old skills, feeling the joy to use your brain more or at least in a different way. That is not to say I reject modern stuff but a mix of both is great. Karine is keen on vintage stuff too and we’d even like to find an adequate workshop while we’re away in Paris in April. Last year we just missed one about developing pictures with wet collodion, that is on glass, spreading your own chemical on the glass plates, shoot with a wooden camera with a black cloth and so on. 19th century style.
Anyway, here in Tanzania, I feel like toying with old cameras alongside digital ones.
