a Mangati woman. This clan is part of the larger Masai community. Originally from the Ngorongoro area, they were displaced to the Sonjo valley in the 60’s and curiously didn’t give the finger to the government by coming back home. For nomadic people, this should be pretty easy…
brass jewels are the main preference though this woman wears a mix of plastic bead jewels too and a type of silver ear extension that I had never seen. But then I’m not a specialist and I’ve only spotted Mangati women here in the Sonjo valley…
