Partially flooded airstrip. Last week I couldn’t land on another airstrip and hesitated heavily on a 2 nd one.
On final for landing.
On a Flying Medical Service clinic at the foot of active volcano Lengai.
Looking back towards lake Manyara.
I wish I could fly these Hercules C130….One of the few big airplanes with bush capacities.
The active volcano Lengai seen from a Twin Otter.
Lake Natron in the dry season. Here is Monik airstrip on the western shoreline and an extinct volcano on the horizon.
things change in some remote villages. 10 years ago, only traditional outfits would be spotted. Now either western style or common African style creeps up.
