an occasional bit of of gore flying is always much appreciated.
Big planes don’t make a real bush pilot jealous.
Serious oil leak but those Continental engines are so good at running on little oil. Like 2 quarts instead of 12. Pressure is near zero but temperature stays normal. It’s pretty impressive and good enough to reach the next practicable place for a refill. There is no need to rush down and crash land somewhere when the pressure shows zero. Keep an eye on temps first.
refuelling from drums. One needs an electric pump or serious elbow oil.
Once in a while a funny bird passes by. Here is an Antonov 2, code name Colt by Nato by then.
A Cessna 206 on landing.
One C206 which has known better days. The wing was ripped off by a giraffe on take off. The plane finished on its side, the engine running at full speed on impact damaged the 3 blades of the propeller. No injuries but the poor giraffe. The camp staff was happy for that big amount of free meat.
Another C206 after a accident, a deadly accident this time. Flying in clouds in mountainous area can be dangerous. 3 died. And that’s how I got my first job in Africa to replace that poor pilot.
