Aerials over Pemba island reef, Tanzania

Good evening everybody...I am tentatively back on this blog. It used to offer a good service... let's try again.

Here is a sample of what the magnificent reef around Pemba island, Tanzania, has to offer within 5 minutes of overflying. The pictures are shuffled, sorry, it is beyond my nerdy capacities to sort them out so far. You see, "They" managed to break a winning team...

I used a Go Pro mounted outside the aircraft, on the stabilizer. The camera is beautifully built...spoilt by the programmers. My 2 colleagues and I are still battling with the Bluetooth and WiFi. OK, I'm a dinosaur with new technologies, I'm never the first one to buy any A model of anything but these two are...

 

 

 

I wonder if the sailor realizes the beauty he is sitting on...

Amongst many things, what makes a bush pilot happy?

a lovely location in Tanzania, like the Selous, no passengers, a quick hop to justify low level flying, a newly acquired Go Pro Hero 6 attached on the tail and tally ho!…

Here taking off from Mtemere towards Siwandu a few minutes away.

 

Some giraffes were hanging around the airstrip. Dangerous hazard along an airstrip! Chasing them was a courtesy for the next pilot about to land.

Notice the little logo “No weapons on board”. In South Sudan they would have died laughing.

 

 

Following the Rufiji river and its gorgeous sand rivers.

 

 

 

 

 

 

A little low pass to inspect the airstrip. Checking for animals or any hole…

 

A quick tear drop turn and here is the landing, a 5 minute flight.
