Those zebras were running towards me, weird, no?

shower just before landing.

 

an airstrip covered by new grass and white flowers. The lake downhill has been quickly filled up.

 

a river that is dried mot of the time. So to see it that full is quite impressive.

 

elsewhere people and cattle cross a lake by foot.

 

the Ngonrongoro crater is 700 m deep, its bottom is quite flat so the smallest rain an fill up that little lake.

 

the active volcano Lengai getting ready for a thunderstorm.

 

colors have changed quickly and dust is gone.

 

2 pictures 5 minute apart. One area is getting finally wet whereas the one below has been drenched a few times already.

 

the area was dry when I landed then a storm started and within 5 minutes the landscapes had changed drastically.

believe me or not the same airstrip can be seen on this picture. The take off was interesting to put it mildly.

old B/W films but the white spots are located on the fur, not dust on the film.

 

Lunch, one-eyed lioness but she keeps a piercing glare.

overflying lake Natron and away. I’m still flying, window open, Nikon D300s and my new 85mm.

 

This lone pelican got me by surprise and I had no time to compensate for the exposition. The wings are a bit highlighted…but that’s the only picture with a bird flying nearby the airplane that I have… It’s not easy to fly the airplane while looking for the bird through the view finder and catch it with the autofocus…

 

2 vertical of flamingoes. And this is not even a big concentration of them. Once in a while it looks like there is over a million down there.

 

Probably some pelicans.

 

Those 2 pelicans were flying much lower than me.

 

same zebras as the ones I posted some weeks ago, splashing water in a pond. This time they were disturbing dust instead of water. Not bad scenery either…

That’s the picture I was referring to, zebras running in the water… quite stunning too right?
